There’s more fabulous news from the FEI u25 European Championships in Exloo, the Netherlands. Charlotte Fry has done us proud, taking the indvidual silver for Great Britain in the u25 Grand Prix aboard her own and Van Olst Horses’ Dark Legend. This is in addition to the team bronze won by the Brits yesterday.
Charlotte and 10-year-old gelding Dark Legend (Zucchero x Tango) achieved a personal best score of 75.308% to finish a whisker behind Germany’s Jill-Marielle Becks and Damon’s Delight (Damon Hill x Rubin-Royal) who won the gold medal with 75.385%. Third spot on the podium was occupied by Denmark’s Victoria E Vallentin and Ludwig Der Sonnenkoenig 2 (74.000%).
Charlotte’s teammates also put up good performances; Yorkshire’s Ryan Todd and Charlex Eskebjerg, owned by Julie Todd, placed 15th with 68.872%; Becky Edwards with Sarah Oppenheimer’s Headmore Delegate scored 67.718% for 18th; Claire Gallimore who, like Charlotte is based in the Netherlands, posted 66.077% with Jane Gallimore’s lovely Scandic daughter Annette Ballerina for 28th.
